Winthrop Undergraduate Summer Science Research Fellowships

Applications are being accepted from students interested in summer research opportunities in biochemistry, biology, and chemistry at Winthrop University.  Students selected  will be required to complete an eight to ten -week research project between mid May and mid August under the direction of a faculty member.  Participants will be required to make end-of summer scientific presentations on their research and to prepare and present a poster at the research symposium held in early fall.  Beginning and ending times will be coordinated with individual research mentors.

This is a full-time research experience; enrollment in summer school will not be permitted. In addition, safety and lab technique training sessions must be completed during April or May prior to beginning research.

At least six and possibly as many as 12 student research fellowships are anticipated to be available for summer 2007.  The following faculty research advisors  may have openings. You are encouraged to visit individual faculty research websites for information about possible projects in their labs.
