Robin Lammi completed her undergraduate chemistry studies at Luther College and earned a Ph.D. in physical inorganic chemistry from Washington University in 2001. Dr. Lammi recently served as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Single-Molecule Spectroscopy at the Center for Nano- and Molecular Science and Technology at the University of Texas. Robin will be responsible for directing the inorganic chemistry program at Winthrop University that includes the introductory inorganic lecture with laboratory and advanced inorganic chemistry courses. Dr. Lammi has also been appointed as the director for the chemistry research courses this academic year and will be teaching in the General Chemistry program this fall.
Aaron Hartel completed a B.S. degree in chemistry at Pennsylvania State
University and earned a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Duke University
in 2001 under the direction of Professor Steve Baldwin. While at
Duke, Dr. Hartel served as the department's chemical hygiene and safety
representative. Dr. Hartel is currently the Organic Chemistry Laboratory
Program Coordinator at the University of Georgia where he redesigned nearly
half the experiments and introduced microscale throughout the curriculum
in a program that involves 1000 students each semester. Dr. Hartel
also lectures in Georgia's organic program. Aaron will be assuming
responsibility for Winthrop University's organic chemistry lecture and
laboratory programs as well as for advanced courses in organic chemistry
and chemical synthesis.
