You will use 30 days of baseline QC test data from your assigned
station to establish initial control charts for a recently developed method.
Use the data in the spreadsheet to generate
Shewhart mean and range control charts for the assigned station. You will
need to group the raw data by date and calculate means and ranges for each
day.
-
For the mean control chart
-
Assume that the true value should be 1.0
-
Use the data to calculate warning and control limits showing work
on a separate sheet of paper.
-
For the range control chart
-
Use the average daily range from all the data to determine the target
range
-
Use data to calculate warning and control limits showing work on
a separate sheet of paper.
-
Plot and clearly label both charts showing individual data points
(markers and lines), both control and warming limits (showing lines) and
the target mean or range.
