General Chemistry I (CHEM 105) Placement - The Chemistry Placement Test Is No Longer Being Given:

CHEM105 Registration: All students meeting any one of these criteria can register for CHEM105:

• Completion of CHEM104 or MATH201 with a final grade of C or higher

• SAT-Math score of 570 or higher

• SAT Combined Math and Critical Reading score of 1,200 or higher

• ACT Composite Score of 27 or higher

CHEM104 Registration:

• All students whose major requires CHEM105 can register for CHEM104. For students with SAT Math Scores of 450 or lower (ACT of 18 or lower) it may be advisable to first complete either MATH150 or MATH151 with a final grade of C or higher before taking CHEM104 due to the mathematical intensity of this chemistry course.
